How easy is it to remove lining paper and how much damage would the walls suffer?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

hi there , ive found through time a little sugar soap powder mixed in a bucket of Luke warm water directly damp down lining paper with a sponge and leave for around 10 to 15 mins to soak use a filing knife to remove paper some areas may be harder to remove just re-soak and do the same again I've found this method is better than steaming the walls as this can affect the plaster if overdone which can cause cracks patience may be needed hope this helps handyman tom

Impossible to answer, sometimes you get lucky then other times it will be a complete mess. Will be a lot to do with how long it's been up. Good luck.
