Is an Aqualisa Aquavalve 605 mixer shower compatible with a combi conversion?

I checked with Aqualisa and they identified my mixer shower as an Aquavalve 605 and they say I will need to change the cartridge if I were to install a combi boiler to replace my heat-only system. Is this really necessary from your experience or are Aqualisa trying to make £90 off me for the cartridge? I've been getting conflicting opinions from plumbers/gas engineers about compatibility. Thanks in advance.
