I am thinking or putting in an offer on a 3 bedroom semi and would like to know a ball park figure for the renovations

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.39 PM

This house has had almost nothing done to it since it was built in around the 1950s. It would need re wiring, central heating, extension, new kitchen in extension (B&Q style) and bathroom just bath, sink toilet), possible re-plastering, downstairs shower room installed where kitchen is at present, wardrobes built in two bedrooms new windows, front garden cleared and paved for parking two cars, double doors installed in between living room and dining room It is a standard two double one single bedroom semi with one bathroom upstairs at present. I am thinking of making an offer but would like to know how long it would take to make it liveable and a rough estimate of cost. Many thanks

No body could give you an accurate idea without viewing the property why dont you organise for a builder to meet you and the estate agent on site and then you will get an exact cost. We do this for people all of the time normally the estate agent meets us and walks around all at the same time If you are in or around the kent area we could help you out.... Or you could post the job on here Kind Regards Craig

Unless you have the exact details and specification of work scope, fitments and any alterations you wont get an exact cost. Just an estimated cost.

As previously mention buy the other builders, it is too hard to put a figure on the renovation without a visual inspection and a better break down of the spec and meterage of extensions, areas to plater and sizes of rooms. This is within your interests as you can only get a clear idea for your own finances if the job is priced correctly. Cheers Olly Cooper
