Installation of dishwasher vi aplumbing under the floorboards?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.13 PM

Hi We have a fairly small kitchen, roughly 2.9m x 2.2m. The pluming for the kitchen (e.g. where the sink and washing machine are located) are on one side of the kitchen (against the exterior wall). We now want to fit a dishwasher along the opposite wall (interior). Is this possible? Presumably we would need to run pipes under the floor? If it helps, we are aware that the stopcock is under the middle of the kitchen floor, pretty much half way between the washing machine and the place we would like to add the dishwasher. We were thinking that perhaps we would move this to somewhere more accessible (e.g. under the sink), before re-tiling the kitchen at some point, but that's a separate issue really. Many thanks in advance for your help.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hello, I cannot see any reason to why you should not beable to install a dishwasher where you would like as running the main supply pipe to the dishwasher and the waste pipe under the floor would be no problem as long as you had long enough pipe, some dishwashers supply these pipes so it may be that you need to by a new additional and longer pipe however the waste pipe will still need to relay back to the waste outlet usually found under your kitchen sink. Otherwise crack on and enjoy the easy life of a dishwasher. Also it would be almost fatal not to relocate the stopcock before tiling the kitchen of that area is affected. Many thanks Dean
