With regards to Building Regs and Aluminium Edging strips?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.12 PM

Hi, I have been asked by my landlord to get some quotes to re-felt our flat roof, he wants to go cheap as possible and we have received 1 quote so far. Ok, he called me up today and told me to ask them, are they keeping to building regulations and fitting an aluminium edging strip? Obviously my answer was, what is one etc? He said that it is the regs to install one when doing a flat roof, could anyone please confirm this as he says that if they are a professional, they shall know this. Apologies to seem silly but I really have no idea what he is on about and do not wish to appear more naive against prospective bidders for this job... p.s. this post shall result in a post for the job to be done with full details. Thank you very much! :: Thank you, but the Landlord says if a roofer does not fit it, then he is going against building regulations. is this so?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Mostly preference I guess, but personally it finishes it off better and looks far more tidy than felt edges. Ask your landlord to look into EPDM/GRP Roof coverings also, Calum @ CMT Contractor
