Pva is for internal, sbr is for external, mix sbr with a bit of cement to make a slurry and brush or roller onto substrate first this will stop all suction and give a key for the scratch coat, sand need to be a rendering sand, not sharp or building, first coat 4 and 1 bit of feb or waterproofer top coat 5-1 and 1 lime no feb or waterproofer, float and sponge. If it’s a hot day keep it hydrated with a mist spray

Hi try adding 1 part hydrated lime to your mix this will give more suction and act as a plastersizer also a good tip is to rub the face with a flat sponge this will remove unsightly trowel marks and leave a gritty finish ready for painting...hope this helps

Hi you need to unibond wall first (PVA) couple of coats wait for it to dry then apply a coat of render and scratch it so second coat has something to key to called a scratch coat then apply a second coat try and get it as flat as you can. when nearly dry rub over it with a damp sponge and you will get a good finish. this is the best way for a diy job as you probably haven't got the tools of a professional. Hope this helps.
