Slate finishing detail on gable end

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.52 PM

It's an end terraced house. Where exactly should the last row of slates sit on the gable end. Should they sit flush with the gable end brickwork, just inside the brickwork or overlap the brickwork. Thank you Lewis

Hi the slates need to overhang the gable end brickwork to protect the brickwork by about 1.5 inches. Hope this helps. ROOFco

The best way to to finish a verge is to extend over verge from 38mm to 50mm using slate and a half with full slate to get the best fixing integrity to formed verges
