Small gully to be dug along my back wall to enable the dpc to work effectively?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.38 PM

Hi, I have been advised to dig a one foot wide gully along the back wall of my house (around 3 feet) to around 6 inches deep below the floor level. I will need to break up paving stones and fill the gap with pea shingle. Is this something I could do myself? Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Emma if it is to drain the land them yes if it is for surface water, rain on flags etc you would be better laying channel drainage... Aco.. And running into an existing drain . Either one is not easy work. Good luck. Mark emmpire
