Fencing

wooden fence panels keep blowing out.

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.12 PM

Since moving into my house 3 years ago, the fence panels have been blown out by the winds a few times each year. We live next to a park so take the brunt of the wind across the open space. What's the best solution to stop the fence blowing out all the time? Current fence is concrete posts with wooden panels slotted in. Thanks

You could replace the panels with some trellis and plant some evergreen climbing plants then the wind will filter through if it's that bad. Or you take the fence out and replace with some instant hedging more cost but less hassle, but if you have to keep replacing panels it keeps adding up,if they are the lap panels then there to flimsy, you could replace with close board panels there solid.Hope those 3 options help you. Hello You have two solutions to this problem you can either attach strips of wood to the front face /edge of panel to extend it into the post and then paint it to blend in with your panel or you can wedge some strips in one side from the top the usual size is about 1inch by1/2inch. Hope I have been a help to you Regards G d barton
