Skirting can it stay with new flooring?

I have 35m2 of flooring to be layed will i have to get new skirting or can this stay on?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, Couple of options, 1. It stays on and beading fitted to hide expansion gap. 2. Skirting removed and re-used - placed over expansion gap - no beading used. That's IF the skirting comes off ok! Good luck Calum @ CMT Contractor

your skirting can stay on if you fit a trim around the edge to cover the expansion gap you MUST leave between the new floor and the skirting to allow the floor to move. You can get trims to match your floor or use timber quadrant or scotia and paint in with skirting. However I believe the best finish is achieved by removing the skirting and re-fitting on top of the new floor.
