Scratching render?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.12 PM
Ive been looking into this Weber monocouche render with the scratch float to scratch the top layer smooth. I was just wondering can you use this scratch method on normal lime, sand render?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

No as the stander sand and cement render dose not have an even aggregate like the Monocouche through coloured rendering systems.

No the achive a smooth straight surface with sand and lime you need to use a float and a wet sponge to finish off.
Using a scratch on sand and lime would only scar the cement.

Hi to answer your question I would use a silicone 3 coat system .1st any loose render and the window reveals need chipping back to brick .then any deep areas levelled out with a sand and cement mortar . Next the 1st base coat with mesh is applied then a second base coat. And finally primer then 1.5mm thin coat silicone texture is applied to almost any colour you want .please see my profile for examples of this
