Leak repair behind the tiles

Anonymous user 06/03/2024 - 2.31 PM

We had a leak from upstairs flat with water penetrating into the wall unnoticed until it found its way down and started pouring onto the floor. The water now stopped but I wonder if the wall will dry behind the tiles or tiles need to be taken off? The wall still feels wet under the bath where there are no tiles 2 weeks after water stopped. Please advice, Thank you.

The whole area needs to be striped out, tiles and plasterboard and allowed to dry out completely. Then you can put it all back together. This should be done on the insurance of the flat with the leak. You will not be able to match the tiles with any areas let undamaged, do the whole room will need to be redone.
