Budget driveway on a slope - tarmac or gravel?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.12 PM
I have a driveway on a slope downward. I can't currently get onto the driveway because the angle coming onto it means the car scrapes in the middle so it will need building up slightly. There is a drop curb already in place. Once the initial slope has dropped down it levels out, although is still on a definite slope. The existing driveway is made up of large paving slabs laid on grass/soil. The size is about 3m wide by 4m long (estimate) I am trying to budget for the work (minimal budget) but don't know what to get a quote for - tarmac or gravel?

Hello Sir,
Well as you say you are on a budget so gravel is the correct option. Tarmacadam is around £160 a tonne and gravel is around £40 a tonne.
Hope this helped you!
