screed installation
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.38 PM
Hi, I will get a water underfloor heating installed and need to do some finishing on it, a screed or concreede or something. I dont konw how much can I look for from the companies to lay it down on my ground floor house, approx 35m2. Someone told me that material is very expensive for screed, but I thought its sand, cement and fibres only. What do you recon? Thanks
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You need a minimum 75mm screed with fibres in, its not that expensive, a lot of plasterers do floor screeding, get someone in to do it, its not an easy job.
If you get the right trade in, he will probably use a ready mix company for the material, and give you a price.

well it really depends on what depth you are going too
you say you have pipe work that needs to be covered you would be best to use concreate then have a screed finsh as a top covering as this will be cheaper than using screed if you have alot to build up on
ps don't forget if this is a new area a DPM maybe required "DAMP PROOF MEMBRANE "
