Dormer roof extension when neighbour has built to centre of party wall
we're considering buying a mid-terrace property where the cottages to either side have built rear dormer extensions. our surveyor has highlighted that one of these is to the centre of the party wall. we were hoping to build our own extension, and are worried this will affect our ability to do. please could you advise? do we need to see if our vendor was served a party wall notice? would that help or hinder our own application? should we approach the neighbours now?

Should not affect you and will have had to have had a party wall agreement in order to be signed off by the building control.
When you build yours go to centre of party wall as you own between the two centre lines of each party wall so don't worry hugh
