Extension to mid-terrace house with garden at an angle
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.12 PM
Can anyone tell me if there would be any issues with building an extension at an angle, i.e. would this not be permitted by the council (it would only be 3m out) and would it be more expensive/less useful. Or would you recommend a narrower extension that could be built straight out? The garden is long and around 4.5m in width all the way down - but at around 20 degree slant (i.e. 110/70 degree angles from house back wall). Many thanks.

An extension should not exceed a line taken at 45 degrees from the centre of the nearest ground floor window of a habitable room in an adjoining property.
