Removal of grout in a new bathroom

Anonymous user 06/03/2024 - 2.30 PM

My builder has unfortunately used grouts in my new bathroom without checking with me. I don't quite like the colour of this grout and trying to understand whether this can be removed and re-grouted with a lighter coloured grout. Appreciate your help. Thanks.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Mocho, An inexpensive fix would by to by a grout pen or grouting paint. You should be able to find a colour your happier with and just paint over the existing grout. You should be able to achieve a nice finish and for a fraction of the cost!

Yes you can but it means taking out the grout and re-applying the new grout to the colour of your choice Hope this helps WY&TY roofing

You can get a grout rake and go between the joins, and get the grout out, will take time to do this but is possible to do. Chris

Hi Grout pens are ok for small touch ups only but I would never use them for a room in fact I would never use them. Ask your builder to show you the samples colours sticks of the grouts and hold them up to the tile first before removing any grout. I would make sure you find the right colour first before re grout them as removing takes time. Hope this helps Regards George Kalavashoti Blank canvas Constructions
