Hello, refitting kitchen and would like to know if you should lay vinyl tiles before or after fitting kitchen cabinets? 22 March - Hello thank you for your answers which were very helpful. The kitchen fitter has just told me that I have lead piping under the floor and advised laying vinyl sheeting instead of vinyl tiles incase there are any issues. I have already bought the vinyl tiles online - is this a common issue? Should I use sheeting instead as advised??
It depends who is fitting, as a kitchen fitter may damage the floor after It's been laid, and of coarse it's slightly easier this way, another way is to fit most of the kitchen and leave the end panels and plymth off and fit after Vinyl is done, if it was my job I would do it this way.

I always lay vinyl tiles first. It is easier this way as there is no need to cut the tiles to fit them round the baseboards and it looks neater. Thanks, Krystian

Lay your tiles after the kitchen is fitted. Just remove the plinths and lay tiles just under the plinths. No sense in paying for tiles that are hidden under the units.
