tiling onto ply in a bay windows in the kitchen

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.55 PM

Am I okay using normal uni-bond adhesive tiling onto ply in a kitchen bay windows, I'm guessing as it's horizontal and not vertical they should hold just fine am I correct in assuming this, obviously flexible adhesive and grout should be used in case of slight movement in ply yes?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

yes... for ply and wood and other woods etc. prime surface, flex adhesive should be used and grout.

Aslong as you apply primer to the ply before and certainly use flexible adhesive and grout it will be fine Mark.

Yes you should be fine I would prime the ply first with an SBR primer or at least PVA and flexi adhesive and grout would be best. Good luck Steve

Yes that's Ok. Use an acrylic primer for the ply not pvc. Two coats then tile using flexible powdered adhesive
