Removal of septic tank?
Anonymous user 06/03/2024 - 2.30 PM
Not sure which trade to ask advice on this ? I live in 1928 upper flat and share a driveway with neighbour below. We are the only flats that have a septic tank. My very elderly neighbour is terrified of tank flooding ( this happened years ago) so wants tank removed and connected to the mains. No idea where to start with this ? Any advice appreciated.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Ally,
Your first port of call is the water-board, you need to know the location of the public sewer, and it's depth, to be able to calculate if it is even possible. You may be able to install an overflow run off to this sewer if you don't have the depth to discharge directly. I have to warn you that it won't be cheap. Once you have these plans you require a civil engineer/ground works firm to quote.

Simon
