garage footings for a garage conversion

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.55 PM

Hello, I'm thinking of doing a garage conversion. The current garage is 4.5 m2 approx. Single skin brickwork with piers. I had a dig down to look at footings, the brickwork goes 3 courses underground and is sitting on about 125mm of concrete!!!! Is this sufficient? Its got flat roof, and was thinking of doing studwall inside on raised timber floor. If building inspector looks at footings do you reckon hell put the mockers on it.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

should be most suffiecent probably wont even ask about foundations as long as your not building above and can see the slab,if its an old garage make sure there is a dpc under the slab ie visqueen,if not or you cant tell paint the floor with a bitumen paint before you lay your floor even if it is a raised floor
