Sounds more like condensation due to bad ventilation but without seeing it couldn't be 100%

Mould growth typically can only grow on moisture created internally, so it is likely to be as a result of condensation rather than moisture ingress. Ask a ventilation specialist for a free survey to find a guaranteed cure to the problem.

It could be a number of reasons for the Damp problems. It could just be that you need mechanical ventilation fitting. The problem being ignored with some condensation problems is that if your walls have had cavity Wall Insulation fitted. The problem usually points to voids within the insulation in the Cavity, possibly causing cold bridging.
Hope this helps!
