Tiling

Which tile adhesive to use

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.11 PM

Hi, I am a newbie and am about to start on rather an ambitious project, I am about to tile my whole bathroom. My question is can anyone Recommend a tile adhesive that will not set too quickly, to enable me to make any finer adjustments maybe 15 or so minutes, as I say I'm a newbie and will be taking it nice and slow but any extra help I can get the better. Thanks so much in advance. Lee Thank for the info so far, I will be tiling 20 x 10 cm brick ceramic tiles.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It very much depends on what tiles you are using, adhesives are not universal. For small ceramics and porcelain visit Topps tiles and use Grip adhesive..... most ready mixed adhesive give you 45 mins movement time For the floor (if you are tiling it) if over wood it will need to be 18mm ply or thicker screwed every 150mm and a highly flexible adhesive , you can by rapidset or regular adhesive. Bare in mind it is cheaper to employ a tiler than buy a whole bathrooms worth of new tiles when it all goes wrong, making tiling look good is rarely achieved first attempt.

Hi there, lets see if i can be of any help. I usually use a product from a large organisation called Al Murad. The adhesive they have is slow set flexible adhesive. Its a 20kg bag.. i assume you will find a similar adhesive in your area in any of the major tile shops or B&Q. Hope that helps. Regards Irfan @ EKB Group
