Gully Flange Cracked - Gully Body Not Supported?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.55 PM

A wet room was created for my disabled father 8 years ago. A preformed tray was NOT used - a gradient was created and a gully drain inserted. Dad died 6 years ago and the room (3'6" x 8') is only used by my mother for the toilet & wash basin. Recently I have noticed the drain giving way and after removing the gully cap & clamping ring I managed to lift the vinyl and photograph the gully flange. It is completely shattered all the way around. I suspect the gully body has not been supported. What should the gully body have been supported by? PS I am a 61 year old woman so no technical terms please!!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The gully trap should of been supported with a lean mix of concrete around the full body nice and compact as to stop any movement .
