Height of log burner vent

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.55 PM

We are thinking about building a ground floor single story extension and fitting a log burner with a vent through the roof - anyone know the regulations on the height of this ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, Building Regs recommend a minimum flue height of 4.5m from the appliance, although this is dependant on the actual location to the building/windows/dormers etc. it will need to be higher if too close to these. Have a read of Part J http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/uploads/br/BR_PDF_AD_J_2010_V2.pdf
