Hello. We viewed a house last weekend and could do with some help with determining the severity of the problem. I know there is only so much advice you can give without seeing the property first-hand, but I appreciate the help. We're due to go for a second viewing so any advice as to what to look for in particular would be a great help. Below are links to images that show the concerning issues. (Copy and paste into your web browser). Thanks for you help. https://www.dropbox.com/s/cewkw8flwjg2fcr/Photo%2031-01-2015%2010%2002%2000.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/m14hy8ly5sqm7ts/Photo%2031-01-2015%2010%2003%2006.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/fd9emkek71y4oi4/Photo%2031-01-2015%2010%2005%2003.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/0groljo0gzonent/Photo%2031-01-2015%2010%2005%2014.jpg?dl=0

How old is the house? If its say pre 1930's it would be built with lime mortar, then over the years people would use cement to repoint. Lime can breath and expel moisture cement doesnt, so if the lime is covered in cement and water is getting into the brick joints the only way the lime can expel the moisture is in to the house hence the damp.
