Driveways & Paving

Suitable to take rainwater before it reaches the house

Anonymous user 06/03/2024 - 2.30 PM

Our drive slopes fairly gently towards the house. We've had a soakaway put in that doesn't soakaway due to the clay soil it appears to act as an underground tank! so have to pump out water if rains or snows excessively. My question is, we have a crazy paving area approx 50 x 30'. Would the answer be to fill the soakaway (done the modern way with crates) with sand soil etc., and gravel the drive to enable the water to soak in before it reaches the bungalow. And what would be the approximate cost to do this work.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
