Uncalibrated slate linear split face tiles and aquapanels
Anonymous user 06/03/2024 - 2.30 PM
Can uncalibrated slate linear split face tiles be used directly in a shower area if aquapanels are used? It says on the Topps Tiles website that they shouldn't receive direct water contact but I was wondering if using the aquapanels will solve this issue. Thanks for any help.

Hi
It is not about what's under the stone. Of course aqua panels are good choice for the showers.
They don't recommend using them as you can't grout them correctly without destroying the looks. That means water will get behind the tile. Over time tile adhesive constantly in the water will degrade also it will destroy the tanking meaning the leak! Plus this slate is not easy to clean and limescale will be everywhere.
Hope that helps.
