I wish to replace my old gas fire (valor homeflame) with a new inset one. My fireplace (with concrete flue)has an opening size of 16" x 24" instead of the standard (16" x 22"). Do I need to replace the fireplace as well or can some kind of adapter plate be fitted? I will be getting a registered fitter to do the work but probably won't bother if fireplace has to be replaced.
