Ask a questionGas Works
Gas work done by unregistered Gas fitter .

I've had a gas hob replaced recently as part of a revamp on my Property in which i hired an interior design company to carry out the work . I asked for a receipt of the gas work carried out and their registration details . This has been supplied, however the Gas registration details on the receipt are false . They are unregistered nor were they at the time the work was carried out on my property . Am i in anyway responsible as the homeowner ? What certificates should i have been issued with for this work ? Thanks in advance

You need to arrange for a registered Gas safe engineer to test the gas on the property and you need to report the person that originally fitted it to Gas Safe.
"For managed building projects involving gas work, make sure your builder knows he is responsible for using only Gas Safe Registered tradesmen"
