Replace hot water cylinder and large tank with instant water heaters under sinks

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.55 PM

In a 2 bedroom electric only ground floor flat, we would like to remove the hot water cylinder and large water tank and replace with one, maybe two instant water heaters under kitchen sink and bathroom handbasin (rooms back onto each other). The only use of hot water is sink/basins and it doesn't seem a very efficient way of doing this. Washing machine is cold feed and shower is electric. Would also like to make use of the cupboard space! Do any plumbers have any experience of this kind of thing and/or any advice on possible alternative? Flat isn't on Economy 7, guess the equipment is original, flat built in 1987.

I think this is the most efficient and economical way to supply hot water to the sink and basin. Bare in mind that the instant water heater would need to be properly wire and protected against ovecurrent. Personally I would install 2 x 8.5 to 10kw instant water heater. An electrician with good plumbing skills should be able to help you with the job. Tiziano
