Is it best to have a secondary meter or separate gas supply?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.55 PM

i have a shop which has two domestic gas cookers and a gas boiler for hot water, this is on a domestic supply (inherited it like this) gas central heating was put in the flat upstairs in 2006 by splitting the gas supply, my present tenant now wants to be able to see the meter and also be responsible for own billing, should i get a new supply in for them or can i put a secondary meter preferably prepay for them?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi. Separate meter will be much better option. Secondary meters allways generate unnecessary accusations. Robert

Hello, Secondary meters will reduce installation pressure and as a result could cause issues. Separate metered installations are always better and you know exactly what you have used when it comes to the bill. Hope this helps.
