Raising garage ceiling height
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.55 PM
I have recently moved into a newbuild house with a garage that has a pointed roof(triangular). I would like to extend the ceiling height in the garage by around 2 feet, is this possible and if so what's the method/cost? There is definitely room to do so but the trusses in place are not far above the ceiling at present Thank you

You cannot really raise the ceiling without raising the roof.... would cost a fortune

What you would have to do is. Remove the old ceiling. Raise the roof joists. But you would have to reinforce them befor you do. Probably have to birds mouth them to make it strong as it probably holds the roof together.
