Hanging a 35mm within a 30mm door frame (door stopper space)
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.55 PM
Is there any way to Hang a 35mm within a 30mm door frame (door stopper space). Will this require special hinges? Is it possible. I can not take the door stoppers off as they are carved into the frame. 30mm doors are not available Many thanks Nick http://socratesarchitects.com

there are several ways round this. the worst one would be to start again with a new frame. however you could remove the architrave to one side of the frame and insert a thin wedge of timber to give you greater depth then refit architrave then fill in behind the architrave or finish off with beading etc.

I would try and make a rebate on the internal part off the door - 7 mm depth by X - width of the door stopper +2-3 mm . Or make a 30 mm door
