Plasmas TV over gas fire in fireplace
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.10 PM
I currently have a gas fire in the place of the fireplace in my old Georgian house. Is it ok to mount a plasma TV onto the chimney breast above? Many thanks

Yes it's perfectly ok, as long as you take into consideration the heat from the fire will obviously rise and could cook you TV! However if you take appropriate actions to minimize the heat you and your Tv will be fine. I have installed hundreds of TVs above fireplaces but have always custom built a mount that minimizes the heat from the fire. If you need more info or ideas on how to do this give me a shout
