My bed room ceiling has damp on the ceiling and it is black.

My house has been built 26 years now and the front bedroom has a roof section sticking out from the main roof (apex). My bed room ceiling has damp on the ceiling at both sides where the ceiling meets the wall. What can I do to correct this, is it bad ventilation?, water getting in from the roof, or other things causing this. I have double PVC glazing and 200mm insulated roofing

This could be many things....
Flashing could have failed
There may not be a cavity tray installed over the opening
You may have a cold spot in the insulation causing condensation
Best to have somebody take a look

without looking at the issue its impossible to be 100% sure of what is causing the issue,
could be a number of things ,ventilation, poorly laid insulation, roof felt, broken/ cracked roof tiles, damage to the valley. your best bet is post in the jobs section and get a local expert round to see exactly what the problems are, the best solution/cost to repair.
good luck Alex
