putting up new plasterboard ceiling artex

new ceiling. my builder is putting up plasterboard and then he will be artexing over the plasterboard my question is what should he use tapered or square edged. if square edged i believe he would tape the joints and artex over. if he used tapered he would have to fill the joint. is this ture.

Hi james i would use tapered edge boards tape the joints and then fill them out as you go when artexing this way you stand a better chance of stoping the joints cracking and less chance of the tap showing thru the finished artex. Hope this helps
