Boiler in the loft or flexicom 30cx in the kitchen
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.09 PM
Hello. We have had a quote to fit a flexicom 30cx in our house due to it being the only one that will fit in the kitchen cupboard. we live in a 3 bed semi with quite a big conservatory. We have 7 radiators in the house. Will this boiler heat our house well enough? The other alternative was to have an ultra com 2 30 cxi in the loft. Does anybody have some advise for this as we are unsure of which is the best choice.

Hi,
Both boilers are 30kW for hot water and 24kW for central heating and both offer similar hot water flow rates. Both are easily capable of heating the house.
If it was me I would not choose a boiler based on it's physical size, I would choose the best boiler for you needs and your budget, especially if you plan on staying the property for some time. Ask the installer about the differences and benefits of each boiler.
Personally I'm not a fan of Glowworm boilers, only my opinion, and you could have a Vaillant EcoTEC Pro 28 for the same price as the Ultracom 2 or for an extra £200 a Vaillant EcoTEC Plus 831 with a 7 year warranty. Both of these boilers are too deep to fit inside a kitchen cupboard but are excellent reliable boilers in my experience.
Hope this is some help.
Kind Regards,
jeff
