What are the drawbacks of underfloor heating?
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.51 PM
We are planning an extension on our home and are considering underfloor heating. Before we go this expense, are there any huge down sides to underfloor heating? I have many friends whose builders have advised against underfloor heating. I would be grateful of some feedback and to know of any potential issues. Many thanks in advance.

water based systems are generaly fine if installed correctly and no one drills or nails into them (allthough they ara generally buried in screed of 75mm deep), if this happens the leak can be traced and repaired, however if electric heating is covered with tiles and has a fault the whole tiling would have to be removed to replace the heating element, regards Terry.
