Clean ubend but slow draining water
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.51 PM
Our kitchen was new in June 2013. A few days ago I noticed the water was draining very slowly from the kitchen sink. I checked the ubend which was clean. When the dishwasher is on, it is worse. I've now noticed that horrible 'drains' smell all over the house at times. We recently had our floorboards nailed down, sanded and varnished. There was a lot of banging. Is it possible that the vibrations have caused a pipe to break or dislodge?

Hi,
If the sink drained fine since the kitchen has been fitted but is now getting slower, it is more than likely a blockage in the waste pipe somewhere.
Have you removed the trap from the sink and cleared it, this is a usually place for a blockage as well as all bends in the waste pipe.
I cant image the vibrations having caused a waste pipe to break or dislodge, even if it had, the water would still be draining normally but you would have water everywhere.
I keep checking for blockages.
Kind regards shane
