Plastering & Rendering

Painting fresh plaster with watered down silk emulsion

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.09 PM

I just noticed that when I was in work my other half (tried to help) and painted the new celing with watered down white SILK emulsion. Will anything happen to the paint now? Will it flake off or anything? Please help ASAP 😣

It's best to use matt emulsion first it soaks into the plaster and forms a great base coat, silk can form a skin.

Just sand this with a fine paper like 200 or so grit for the surface to create more grip for the new coats of paper. Never use silk as a first coat after plastering.
