Roofing

Add felt and re-batten front roof of terraced house

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

Hi, I am looking for some advice and some rough estimates. I am planning a loft conversion but the current roof has no membrane under the tiles. So if a tile is cracked water comes into the house. I want to have the tiles lifted, a membrane added, new battens and the tiles replaced (can't do new tiles, as I need to be in keeping with the rest of the street). As I will be doing a dormer at the rear for the loft, I can salvage all good tiles from that slope - so shouldn't need to purchase any new (reclaimed) tiles. I have been quoted £3,600 (excluding VAT) for this work. Is this reasonable? The property is in London. Also, scaffolding is already in place Many thanks

I would say as London prices go that's a fair price

We are a Scottish based roofing company so not upto date with prices in London, the average Re-roofing price for a mid terrace house is about £4000 but this includes knew tiles, hope this gives you a guideline. You can break it down to m2 price, this should give you a better idea and you can work out from there, Wullie.
