My boiler is losing pressure every few hours! HELP...

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.13 PM

I have a Worcester 30CDI boiler, installed alongside a Megaflow. The boiler is dropping pressure from 1.5bar to 0 bar in literally 3-4 hours resulting in the boiler automatically cutting out which is a real frustration. No visible leaks on visible pipe work and no brown marks on ceilings. No water being discharged from the boiler overflow/pressure release valve and we have already tried putting leak sealer in the system, but no joy. I am being told that the only possible problem that it could now be is a leak under the floors of my newly decorated rooms downstairs!!!! Is there anything else it could possibly or that I can check before I get the skill saw out? DESPERATE TIMES :(

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

1-you haver to make sure that the leak is from your pipes in the house before lifting floor downstairs. you can disconnect the flow and return from the boiler and then connect them in a temporary loop fitted with pressure gauge and hydraulic machine. rise the pressure to 3 bar max and leave it for few hours. if you notice drop in the pressure then go ahead and lift floor boards downstairs to find the leak and repair it or you get specialist people with camera leak detector to tell you where is the place of leak , see which option is cheaper for you. the cheapest third option is to replace your downstairs pipes with visible decorated ones. 2- if the pressure kept tight at 3 bars then the problem is from the primary heat exchanger of the boiler so replace it . check if your boiler still under warranty. thank you FIT&Serve
