Shower leak and costs involved of fixing

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

The ceiling in my London flat downstairs collapsed turns out my leaking shower caused this. I am not having to pay for this as tenants in that flat did not report this to my tenants. However, I have been quoted as 1175 to fix damage in my flat this covers remove existing bath taps waste and fittings, wa to supply and fit a new bath in opposite direction, replumb hot and cold water. remove all tiles around bath. to replasterboard damaged areas to retile walls around bath, to supply and fit a new bath panel. Its my flat's MGT company who brought in the quoter but I don't understand all this why do I need a new bath etc and all this work done for a leaking shower? IS this normal costs and work involved in sorting a leaking shower

Hi have you considered a claim on your insurance? If you do claim it will have to beput back on a like for like basis. So will not cover for moving the bath. With regards to your question why do I have to move the bath, I would be asking the same question. If you do claim on you insurance they may appoint a loss adjustor who will advice you further. Its always advisable to obtain two or three estimates. Regards Trevor
