Wall mounting a TV in a Tanked Cellar

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

I need to wall mount a large Tv (43kg) in my Cellar that has been tanked, will I need to go through the plasterboard, through the lined protection and into the stone wall. Should I do this? What are the implications of doing this? Any other suggestions? Cheers

If you breech the tanking you will get damp ingress.....it's not worth the risk..

I would be very cautious if you disturb the tanking system that’s been installed it will give you potential damp problems in the future. Have you considered a ceiling mounted TV bracket? Regards Trevor

I would fit a peice of melamaine faced chipboard fixed with plasterboard fixings and a good solvent based polymer adhisive then fix your tv bracket.
