plastering after removal of chipboard

Anonymous user 29 November 2014 - 8.58 AM

My daughter has just had chipboard paper removed from some rooms and she has been told by a plasterer that the walls are unpasterable. Can this be right?

Hi Ruth I have been plastering for 11yrs and I have never herd of this, you can put backing plaster on bad walls or even board them, my be he didn't want the job which as a tradesman myself i am embarrassed. So unless there are more experienced plasterers that answer you and give a different answer than myself I believe I might learn something from them, ( but I don't think so )

walls like that may need some preperation in use of a base coat like hardwall or render if in need of some tlc. but not being able to plaster the walls for you sounds like he didnt have the skills to do the job
