Insulation

Insulating a single brick wall

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.53 PM

I have a bathroom at the end of my kitchen which has two walls that are single skin brick facing the exterior, one which is connect to the house and the last is connected to next door. I need to insulate the two exterior walls as part of the bathroom refurbishment. What is the best way to go about this? Space is tight so it has to be the most efficient method possible. I was thinking insulated back plasterboard with a membrane dot and dabbed onto the wall (to create air gap. Simple and hopefully effective? Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You cannot insulate directly onto a single brick wall, give it a few years and you will have black mould and damp problems. You need to install an internal stud wall on a DPC.
