Partition wall in joint entrance/ginnel to back door
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.53 PM
hi, on my property and the next door neighbours property there is a ginnel/entrance way to both of our back doors. Ginnel measures no more then 40inches in width. The next door neighbours are wanting to build a partition wall down the middle, which would cause a lot of hassle for my self as I use this ginnel to gain access with a pram and hassle for my husband as he uses it to gain access to the back door with his push bike. Where do we stand on them not putting it up? Thanks

This is a shared access to reduce it to around 18" would be absolutely ridiculous and a serious inconvenience to you and your husband. Point this out to your neighbour and if they do not take the hint make it clear you will not give permission to dividing the shared access with a partition.

Hi, If you own your property you need to check your deeds for boundaries, either with your solicitor or you local council planning office as this could be a legal wright of way, witch means your neighbors would not be permitted to do anything.
