Central Heating

getting hot radiator in bathroom in summer

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.12 PM

My heating is currently set up so that if the boiler is on for HW only the bathroom rads get hot. It doesn't work with the boiler off but the main pump on. I'm now heating water using solar panels - is it possible to put a small pump into the circuit to get hot rads without the boiler being on? Sorry, I wasn't clear - the panels are pv and feed the immersion heater in the tank. I'd also want a timer switch.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

you mean use the solar panels to heat the radiators? in short, no. the panels have special fluid that runs though a separate coil in the cylinder and is not actually linked to the rads. hope this helps

The immersion would not be capable of heating the water and the radiator circuit, assuming it's a standard 3kw heater. Your gas boiler is probably 15kw
