Plumbing

radiator in front of gas pipe

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.08 PM

We have got a plumber to fit a designer radiator to the side of our lounge window, replacing one that was under the window. The pipework was found to be one pipe down either side of the window ,with the pipe to the right been fitted next to,not touching the gas pipe to the house.Fitting additional piping from the left side to the right, the intention is to fit the 1800mm radiator to this new position. My concern is it okay to have this radiator in front of the gas pipe.?Radiator will fill from the valves at the bottom and is 5000btu

there is no problem with that as gas in the pipe can not be influenced by the change in temperature that a central heating pipe may make, just not sufficient heat, you would need a blow torch and a pipe rupture to achive ignition. assuming all pipes are copper and cross earth bonded.
